Behind the scenes: portfolio

Just before December holidays we spent two weeks photographing portfolios for potential models and actors, and we present you with some behind the scenes and teaser photos. Shooting continuous portraits can be challenging, especially since you, as the photographer do not want the photos too look too similar.

Also, we were working with a lot of first timer models and actors and it takes a lot of time to get them to relax and appear natural in front of the camera. A lot of the models we worked with were children and this is, of course a unique challenge. A fun and relaxed atmosphere is important at all times and particular interest in what makes children uncomfortable is essential.

Some of the models were teenagers and actors, many also appearing in front of the camera for the first time. Even though it is expected of models to be camera ready, the first shoot can be daunting, so a little bit of patience and tolerance can be a good idea.

When it’s time for their second shoots, I will speed up the process and insure that they become more industry ready. Investing in new models can feel like a waste of time, but can eventually reap amazing benefits.
